WWE is getting ready for one of its biggest events of the year. Survivor Series: WarGames 2026 will take place on November 28 in Houston, Texas. This year's show is also special because it marks the 40th edition of Survivor Series.

There are already two important updates for fans. John Cena has confirmed that he will appear at the event, while WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has announced plans for a traditional Team USA vs Team Mexico match.

With these developments, Survivor Series 2026 is beginning to look different from recent editions.

Survivor Series 2026 Date, Venue and Start Time

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, November 28, at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas.

The main show is scheduled to begin at 6 PM ET in the United States. For fans in India, this means the event will start at approximately 4:30 AM IST on Sunday, November 29.

This will be the 40th annual Survivor Series event. Houston last hosted the show in 2017, making its return another important part of this year's event.

Fans can check the official WWE Survivor Series event page for updates and ticket information.

John Cena Confirmed for Survivor Series 2026

One of the biggest talking points is the return of John Cena.

Cena confirmed his appearance during the November 2 episode of Monday Night RAW. He was discussing the upcoming John Cena Classic, a special tournament scheduled for December 14 at Walt Disney World in Florida.

He also revealed that he would be at Survivor Series to announce more participants for the tournament. Cody Rhodes has already been named as its first participant.

Cena's appearance is important because he stepped away from regular in-ring competition after his retirement match in December 2025. However, his confirmed appearance at Survivor Series does not mean that he will compete in a wrestling match.

Team USA vs Team Mexico Match Announced

Another major update came from Rey Mysterio.

During an appearance on Stephanie McMahon's podcast, What's Your Story?, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he had spoken with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about bringing back a traditional five-on-five Survivor Series match.

The planned contest will feature Team USA against Team Mexico.

This announcement is interesting because traditional five-on-five elimination matches were once a major part of Survivor Series. In this format, members of two teams compete in a tag team match, and a wrestler is eliminated after being pinned, submitted, counted out or disqualified.

WWE has not yet revealed the members of either team. The announcement also does not confirm whether Rey Mysterio himself will compete.

What About the WarGames Matches?

The WarGames format has become a major part of Survivor Series in recent years. It allows two teams to compete inside a large steel cage, with wrestlers entering the match at different intervals.

The 2026 event is once again carrying the WarGames name. However, WWE has not announced the complete match card or confirmed the participants for this year's WarGames contests.

Fans should wait for official announcements before treating reported team combinations or possible rivalries as confirmed matches.

Where to Watch WWE Survivor Series 2026 in India

WWE has confirmed that international viewers in most regions can watch its Premium Live Events on Netflix. This includes India.

The event is scheduled to begin at 4:30 AM IST on November 29 for Indian viewers. The US broadcast will be available through the ESPN App with an ESPN Unlimited plan.

Viewers can check WWE's official international viewing guide for the latest platform information in their region.

Why This Year's Survivor Series Is Worth Watching

The 40th edition has a few interesting elements even before the full match card is announced. John Cena's appearance gives the event an additional attraction, while the proposed Team USA vs Team Mexico contest brings back a traditional Survivor Series format.

The next few weeks should reveal how WWE plans to build the WarGames matches and which wrestlers will represent both countries. Until the full card is announced, these are the confirmed developments fans can look forward to in Houston.
