Preity Zinta has shown her support for Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe in a simple way.

The actress was recently spotted wearing a black T-shirt with “Team Tukaram Mundhe” written on it. The gesture came as Mundhe’s food safety drive in Maharashtra continues to attract attention.

Preity was asked about Mundhe and his work.

Her reply was simple:

“It is time to celebrate these heroes.”

The T-shirt made her support even more visible, and the image quickly became a talking point online.

How Did Tukaram Mundhe Respond?

Mundhe welcomed the gesture and said he was grateful that Preity mentioned Team Tukaram Mundhe.

However, he also made it clear that wearing a T-shirt is only a symbolic gesture.

Speaking to PTI Videos, he said:

“Simply wearing a T-shirt with ‘Team Tukaram Mundhe’ is not enough.”

He added that the actual work needs to be done and people should have the right mindset towards food safety.

Mundhe also said he had not personally spoken to Preity about the gesture.

Why Is Tukaram Mundhe Getting Attention?

Mundhe has been in the spotlight for Maharashtra FDA’s action against food adulteration and hygiene violations.

His work has also received attention from other Bollywood names. Mallika Sherawat recently praised him in a social media video, while actors including Salman Khan, Manoj Bajpayee and Twinkle Khanna have also spoken about his work.

Mallika even thanked Mundhe in a Hindi-Marathi video, saying:
