Tickets Started Flying Early

Premium tickets went on sale in July, and the movie made around $16.5 million on the first day from about 1,000 theatres. The number was already enough to show that Marvel fans were ready for another big Avengers event. By mid-August, reported pre-sales had reached about 35million before crossing the $40 million mark in September.

The Marvel Hype is Real

One big reason for the hype is the cast. Robert Downey Jr. is coming back to Marvel, but this time he will play Doctor Doom, not Iron Man.The movie will also have characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men. Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie and many other Marvel stars are also part of the movie.

Basically, Marvel is bringing a lot of big names together.

How Avengers: Endgame Connects to Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Endgame was a major turning point for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After Thanos ' snap wiped out of half of all life, the remaining Avengers came together one last time to bring everyone back. The movie ended with some of the biggest changes in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tony Stark sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos, while Steve Rogers/Captain America went back in time to return the Infinity stones. instead of coming back, Steve chose to stay in the past and live a life with Peggy Carter. That ending becomes especially interesting with Avengers: Doomsday. Chris Evans is returning to Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Anthony Mackie is also part of the film. Marvel has also announced Robert Downey Jr. but this time he is playing Doctor Doom, not Tony Stark. So, for fans who remember Endgame, the return of familiar faces makes Doomsday feel like a new chapter connected too one of the biggest MCU stories.

Robert Downey Jr. is back-but not as Ironman

Robert Downey Jr. is back, but this time he will play Doctor Doom, not Iron Man.This is a big deal because fans still remember him as Tony Stark/Iron Man, whose story ended in Avengers: Endgame when he sacrificed himself to save everyone. So, seeing the same actor return in a completely different role has made fans even more curious about Avengers: Doomsday.

Iron Man is gone. Doctor Doom is here.

But Pre sales aren’t the box office update

Here's the important part -- pre sales shows the early interest, not the final box result.

A movie can have a massive advance booking and still have a very different theatrical run once reviews, audience reactions come in. So, while the numbers show strong early demand for Doomsday, they don’t tell us about how much yet the movie will earn.

For now, one thing is clear that Marvel fans are already booking their seats. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18,2026 with Joe and Anthony Russo returning ad directors. And with Doctor Doom, the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men all entering the same cinematic chaos.
