In this busy lifestyle being organized feels like a superpower. Office, Studies, Family responsibilities, Social life and personal goals managing everything at the same time can become overwhelming.
But being organized does not mean that
your life should work like a perfectly planned time-table. The real meaning
of organization is to make life simpler and not more complicated.
If you forget your important things
time and again or think about “What have I done?” at the end of each day then
some simple habits can make your life much better.
1. Do not try to finish everything all together.
The most common mistake is doing
multiple tasks at the same time.
On one side Emails, other hand its
WhatsApp, Assignment or office work-the result? More work and less
productivity.
Instead of getting stuck up in
multiple tasks focus on one task at a moment finish it and then move on to the
next one.
2. Make a to-do list
To-do list is very useful but there is
no need of writing 20-25 tasks in that.
Every morning or a night before write
3 important tasks.
For example:
· Complete assignment
· 30 Minutes exercise
· Grocery shopping
If you complete these three tasks your
day was already productive enough.
Short list = Less stress + Better
focus
3. Do not let your phone control your Life
Mobiles can become the biggest enemy
of organization.
One notification and you start
scrolling Insta and when it goes from Insta to YouTube and then to WhatsApp we
don’t even know you waste around 30-60 minutes just scrolling.
That is why just turn off unnecessary
notifications. Choose a specific time to check on messages or social media
instead of looking it up on every notification.
4. Do not wait for the next day
Postponing every little task can
become a workload eventually.
If a task can be completed in about
2-5 minutes, then complete it quickly rather than leaving it for next day or
next hour.
Example:
· Replying an important E-mail
· Filing a document
· Organizing your closet
Completing smaller tasks immediately
helps in reducing the mental clutter too.
5. Do not try to be perfect
The most important rule of organization is: Don’t aim for perfection. Aim for consistency. If you miss routine for one day or your room is messy again its fine you can fix that. Being organized is not a one-time project instead it is a habit that develops over time.
6. Do not say yes to everything
An important part of organized life is
learning to say no. Accepting every meeting, invitation or request is not
important.
Sometimes a simple “Sorry, I am not
available” is better as it helps you stay from unnecessary commitments so that
you will have more time for your own important things.
Final Thoughts
To become more organized, you don’t
need any fancy planners, expensive productivity apps or complicated routines.
Adapt a few simple habits:
Less clutter. Less distraction. Fewer
commitments. Clear priorities.
Remember the goal of organized life is
not to work more its to create time and space for important things to be done.
